El Mánager De Khabib Nurmagomedov Dice Que La Pelea Por La Unificación De Los Títulos Con Justin Gaethje Sucederá Este Año


Luego de la noticia del fallecimiento del padre y entrenador de Khabib Nurmagomedov, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, los fans de Khabib temieron que éste fuera a retirarse del deporte, y que la pelea por la unificación de los cinturones de las 155 libras con el campeón interino, Justin Gaethje, no fuera realizada.

Afortunadamente, el manejador de Khabib, Ali Abdelaziz, asegura que su peleador no va a alejarse de la competición. De hecho, Abdelaziz menciona que el plan de Khabib es medirse con Gaethje antes de que termine este 2020. Abdelaziz se refirió a este tema en unas recientes declaraciones entregadas para TMZ Sports (vía MMANews):

Ali Abdelaziz: "Khabib no va a retirarse. Khabib tiene los mismos objetivos, tiene algunas cosas que debe lograr. Lo verán antes de fin de año. Él y Dana actualmente están hablando, y yo hablo con los matchmakers para intentar acordar una fecha. Estoy seguro de que Dana les hará saber a todos cuándo es que Khabib va a pelear".

"Tenemos un enorme evento principal, él contra Justin Gaethje, dos de los mejores pesos ligeros del mundo de hoy en día y de los tiempos recientes. Hemos visto lo que Khabib le hace a todos sus oponentes. Vimos lo que Justin Gaethje le hizo a sus últimos cuatro oponentes. (Justin) desmanteló a Tony Ferguson. Lo hizo ver como un completo amateur, y esos dos sujetos son los mejores del mundo. Ellos van a pelear".

(Texto en inglés): "Khabib is not retiring," Abdelaziz said. "Khabib has some goals, he has some things he wants to accomplish. You will see him before the end of the year. Now him and Dana (are) talking and me talking to the matchmakers and we'll try to set a date. I'm sure Dana is gonna let everybody know when Khabib is gonna fight.

"We have a blockbuster main event, him versus Justin Gaethje, two of the best lightweights in the world today and the recent era. We see what Khabib does to all his opponents. We see what Justin Gaethje did his last four opponents. He dismantled Tony Ferguson. He made him look like an absolute amateur and that's the best two guys in the world. They're gonna fight."
