LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN AQUACULTURE 2023 – LACQUA23 – Panama, April 18-21, 2023

LACQUA23 is the 2023 Annual meeting of the Latin American & Caribbean Chapter of WAS.

El congreso Latinoamericano y del Caribe de acuicultura del Capitulo Latinoamericano de la World Aquaculture Society – LACQUA23 – se llevará a cabo del 18 al 21 de abril en el hotel Riu Plaza de Ciudad de Panamá. Los tres días de conferencias contaran con una plenaria en horas de la mañana.

La plenaria del 19 de abril la dará el doctor Daniel Benetti y su charla será La Acuicultura de Peces Marinos en Las Américas: De los Avances Tecnológicos a la Realidad Comercial.

El 20 de abril la plenaria estará a cargo del señor Carlos Salinas.  Su charla se titula "Perspectivas de las semillas oleaginosas: los flujos cambiantes en el comercio mundial. El doctor salinas nos adelanta esta pequeña introducción a su charla.

Por último, el 21 de abril la plenaria la dará el Dr. Wilson Wasielesky Jr. Tiene una licenciatura en Oceanografía por la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande (1991), Maestría y Doctorado en Oceanografía Biológica por la Universidad Federal de Rio Grande (1994 y 2000). Postdoctorado en la Universidad de Carolina del Sur / Centro de Maricultura Waddell en 2005.

WORLD AQUACULTURE 2023 Darwin, Northern Territories, Australia May 29 – June 1, 2023

Darwin is proud to be hosting World Aquaculture for Australia for the first time since 2014.

This annual event will incorporate the Australasian Aquaculture industry and will see several thousand attendees from around the world converge on the city of Darwin

 

On May 30th, 2023, at 9:20 am, plenary session will start and honor to welcome Dan Richards and David Whyte as the plenary speakers.

Dan Richards is CEO of Humpty Doo Barramundi - the award-winning, family owned and operated Barramundi farm in the remote NT. Dan is a strategic thinker and thought leader with a passion for people, environmental stewardship, farming and implementing business improvements that deliver real results.

David Whyte is a graduate Marine Biologist celebrating his 37th year in the Aquaculture industry. The majority of this time has been spent farming six different species of finfish in Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia. David has also worked in the Aquaculture Technology and Feed sectors.  David is the Managing Director of BioMar Australia, responsible for Australia and New Zealand. His presentation title is “What will Australia have taught the world about Aquaculture in 2050?”

The International Tropical Rock Oyster Workshop hosted by NT Fisheries and The Pacific Community (SPC), supported by the Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern

Australia (CRCNA), will bring together a broad range of stakeholders to discuss the status and current knowledge of tropical oyster aquaculture research and development. This will provide an opportunity to share experiences and develop an international network for tropical oyster aquaculture development.   There will be 2 days’ workshop on Sunday 28th & Monday 29th May 2023.  Seats are limited.

 

The attendees can experience farm tours either pre or post tour.  First tour is Barramundi Adventures Darwin (B.A.D) which is a land-based barramundi fishing farm with low density prawn farming operations, located at the southern end of Darwin harbour in Berry Springs.  Another tour is Darwin Aquaculture Center.  Experience a unique insight into the Darwin Aquaculture Centre, this facility offers education and knowledge from industry professionals currently researching blacklip, rock oyster, black jewfish and barramundi aquaculture.  Seats are limited and can be registered online (event registration form).

AQUACULTURE EUROPE 2023 – AE23 – Vienna, Austria – September 18-21, 2023.

Annual meeting organised by the European Aquaculture Society.

AFRICAN AQUACULTURE 2023 – AFRAQ23 – Lusaka, Zambia – November 13 – 16, 2023.

The 2nd Annual International Conference & Exposition of the African Chapter of the World Aquaculture Society (AFRAQ2023). Zambia, being one of the fastest growing aquaculture producer countries in Africa will host the largest aquaculture conference and trade show in Africa. AQUA 2024 will be held in Copenhagen ! August 26-30, 2024

The Boards of Directors of the European Aquaculture Society and the World Aquaculture Society have just approved a change of location and date for the AQUA 2024 event, previously scheduled in Stavanger, Norway for June.

We are happy to announce that AQUA 2024 will take place from August 26-30 in Copenhagen. It will comprise a scientific conference, trade exhibition, industry forums, workshops, student events and receptions. The event will highlight the latest aquaculture research and innovation to underpin continued growth of this exciting food production sector.  It will be a showcase for Denmark, and its innovation leadership in several key technologies crucial for future aquaculture, but also a meeting and exchange platform for experts from around the world.

The theme of AQUA 2024 is BLUE FOOD, GREEN SOLUTIONS. More information soon on the www.Was.org and the www.aquaeas.eu websites.
